I’m not a “review person.” In fact, if I’m disappointed with something, I’ll generally not patronize the establishment or business in the future. Unfortunately, my wife and I recently had a very poor experience with this Company that should make others wary of the service staff’s tactics. After 10+ years of faithful service my first floor heating system (gas fired - forced hot air) stopped working. Naturally it was with our recent cold snap. Regardless, we had some difficulty securing a service call, but did have success getting a “same day” service call with this Company. My wife was home and met a service technician (? ? Salesman) named Walter. He investigated the issue with our system and diagnosed at least 2-3 parts that “might” be the source of our problem. As they explained to her, there were no guarantees that replacing the parts would get the system working. That’s when he suggested that we purchase a new one. Depending upon efficiency level it would be anywhere from 15-17k. I’m not at the bad part yet. He then told my wife and repeated to me that we had a leak in the heating vent on the roof. He didn’t want to make any repairs until that was fixed. So…… while they were still trouble shooting, my wife called for an emergency visit from an actual reputable Company to check out the roof. Amazingly, she got someone ( Above All Chimney . A+ in my book). They came, checked the roof and supposed leak and found…….NOTHING WRONG.” As they had to charge for the service call, he said he recaulked an area, but that wouldn’t be a leak issue. Interestingly, he shared that with the HVAC serviceman (salesperson), as well. You might be thinking “Why was the HVAC guy still there?” Well, he was trying to tell my wife that we should have work done on our hot water heater ( expansion tank was improperly installed, per him). I’m not a plumber, so I can’t comment but “come on!” This was a service call for heating! ! ! As the HVAC company was trying to wrap up the sales call, they spoke with me and wanted to know if I could lock in an install date for the following Thursday. As I found it somewhere between difficult to impossible to believe anything this person was saying, I simply asked for the quote to be mailed. That evening I was lucky enough to get in touch with an ethical install Company. They came the next day. They detected the issues, replaced the parts and charged 1/3 of the quote that we were given from the salesman. My lessons learned: (1) Never use this Company; (2) be careful when a marginally competent salesman recommend additional vendors ( I’m stuck with a $200 chimney service bill) and (3) we pay for our mistakes. I also paid these folks $260 for teaching the above lessons. Hopefully they shape up or ship out.
